1. Start off by brushing out your hair and sectioning off the area you are going to braid. Depending on the type of braid you are doing, you may need to start off with three sections of hair or more.
2. Take the right section of your braid and cross it over the middle section of your braid.
3. Take the left section of your braid and cross it over the new middle section.
4. Begin to add more sections of hair as you work your way to the ends of your braid and continue the same process, always taking the right section and crossing it over the middle, followed by the left section crossing over.
5. Secure the braid with an elastic band.
6. For an extra polished look, use a tail comb to fluff the braid for more texture, as desired.
