Michaela is the fourth made Flower Portrait in my series. An homage to beauty and it’s fickle, fleeting nature and a memento vivere (Latin: “remember to live”).
A digital collage work using old master’s still life paintings, I love juxtaposing the new with the old and the 2-dimensionality of the paintings with my portrait photos, in an attempt to make it both look as if it’s part of the painting, but like it could also be made up of cut-out parts the way one constructed from paper would be. Traditional meets contemporary art.
